Fred Buchwitz

   Fred was born in Germany in 1945 and came to Canada in 1948. While growing up in the Fraser Valley, he was surrounded by natural beauty which gave him the inspiration for his early paintings. In 1972 he decided that painting would become his full-time profession. Since then, Fred has travelled extensively throughout Canada painting and exhibiting his work. This talented British Columbia artist is one of a few painters who has successfully captured a diverse range of subject matter. His works include such splendours as the surf on the west coast to the majestic rockies, with their dazzling snow caps, reflecting the early morning sun. Fred's work has found its way into many private and corporate collections around the world. The artist currently lives in Delta, B.C.
